The Dark Legend Solid is a stronger version of the Dark Legend which means this one can handle heavier lane patterns. For me this ball is 3-5 boards stronger overall, yet still retain energy down the lane for a strong continuation in the backends. This ball definitely has a place in my bag for longer / heavier lane patterns that I may face and allows me to move into the pattern when they break down. I have seen several styles throw this ball and this is a versatile ball for the heavier-medium to heavy lane patterns.
I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that are looking for something to use on heavier/longer lane pattern. This ball has a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!
With the new 3 year warranty that Hammer provides for this ball, this is the BEST bang for your money!

I love the Black Widow line, but was worried about such a strong cover (Semtex Solid from the Scandal) so when I drilled it I put the pin in the ring finger. I was pleasantly surprised! This is by far the earliest rolling Black Widow that I've thrown, but still maintains energy, and has great continuation. This will be the first ball out of my bag on any pattern with volume!
I drilled the Dark Legend Solid with a 60 x 4 1/2 x 60 layout which gives me pin above the ring finger. I match up well with solid coverstocks and this one rolls great. It definitely needs some oil volume and length to see the benefits as it would be too much on a medium house pattern for those with higher rev rates. This ball is about 2-3 boards more than the original Dark Legend and it just keeps going whereas the original Dark Legend was a lot more blended and smoother on the back end.
Great bowling ball and very predictable on a variety of lane conditions. I drilled mine pin up 45 x 5 x 35 with an extra hole. It is smooth up front and nice strong punch on the back. It isn't too snappy, but very predictable on both a House Shot and PBA/Sport pattern. This ball is hits like a truck! Thank you Hammer!
This ball is incredible. I put a pretty simple layout on it, but it is still one of the strongest balls in my lineup. It is very smooth and has a strong continuous backend. It gives me the option to really get deep and open up the lanes if I need to.
First things first: This Dark Legend Solid is definitely the strongest, earliest rolling Legend ever made! It has a similar coverstock like the Scandal, but its paired with the legendary Gas Mask core. You simply cannot pass up this awesome combination! I've already thrown it a couple times in league, and its a great piece to throw on fresh oil so you can open up the lanes. Mine is drilled 45 x 4 x 45, with a weight hole and the pin next to my ring finger, to give me a nice smooth roll through the front AND the back part of the lane, and it still has a strong continuation through the pins.
