The Paradox V is the 5th bowling ball in a very successful Paradox line. The updated I-Core 2.0 allows for more flare potential, while the Prime Pearl coverstock gets the ball down the lane very easily. If you needed a cleaner version of the Paradox Black, you want to look into the Paradox V.
For me, the Paradox V is a great ball for higher friction lane surfaces. I mainly use this ball on fresh lane conditions when I need some more length through the pattern. It gives me a cleaner motion than my Paradox Black, yet still has that controllable motion down the lane. I also found this ball great for wet/dry conditions as it is strong enough to blend out the over/under reaction. This ball also goes through the pins very well! Makes me feel like my rev-rate is higher than it is!
I drilled the Paradox V with my benchmark drilling and will use it when the lanes break down and I have to start moving left. This ball should compliment one of my all time favorites the Paradox Black! Even with the pin being in the ring this ball still turns the corner. The Paradox series is turning out to be my favorite.
The Track Paradox V is a stark contrast to the Paradox Pearl. Even though they are both pearls, the Paradox V definitely has a different feel.
The Paradox Pearl had the same tendencies as the Paradox (or Paradox Black), where even though it was a pearl coverstock, it had a strong mid-lane motion and very strong through the pins. Many people liked the Paradox Pearl because – at least for me – it did not roll so much like a typical pearl HP ball.
However, the Paradox V is exceptionally clean through the front part of the lane and stores more energy, giving you a bigger move in the backend. Although it is not a pure skid-flip, it is more akin to the Paradox Trilogy or Mako Attack. My current ball has a short pin-to-CG (about 1 ½”), so I am going to drill another one with a more conventional layout so I get the better opportunity to take advantage of the versatility.
I believe you are going to find that the Paradox V may be used on a wider variety of shots than the other earlier/stronger Paradox balls, because of how clean it is through the front part of the lane. I think you’re going to like this ball!
