Hammer Purple Pearl Urethane

FCC Rating (25.25)
The overall strength of the Purple Pearl Urethane is perfect for medium to light oil patterns. This throwback will really excel on shorter oil patterns. There isn’t a person on this planet that will argue against the fact that Hammer made the best urethane bowling balls back in the day. There is no doubt in our minds bowlers looking for the ball reaction that dominated the 80’s and early 90’s will find it in our new Purple Pearl Urethane! This is ball is 100% real urethane and offers that true urethane reaction. 15# and 16# balls feature a thick shell. 14# balls use an outer core system.
FINISH (7.25)
The 500/1000/2000 AbralonTM finish of the Purple Pearl Urethane provides more length compared to our Black Urethane making it the perfect 1-2 punch.
CORE (8.75)
Our new LED core design is a modern version of the traditional light bulb shape that was so popular back in the day.
COVER (9.25)
Our Urethane cover is the main ingredient in this masterpiece. Unlike modern covers that produce a violent reaction at the breakpoint, this proven staple is all about giving the user ultimate control of the entire lane. The immediate success of our real, thick shelled Black Urethane had our fans begging for more! To satisfy their desires, we have developed the perfect pearlized, thick shelled coverstock to compliment the Black Urethane. Old school technology with new school hitting power. Because nothing hits like a Hammer.

Hooks More than Expected
The purple urethane was a nice surprise, as far as hooking it goes. I've had to stand more right (I'm LH) than I thought I could with this one, but I love it! I put my favorite drilling on it, with the pin just next to my ring finger and this ball is as smooth as any other urethane with some POP to it on the backend.

This ball is quite possibly the most unique ball on the market currently.

The pearl urethane cover helps the ball push through the fronts just a little, but responds super slow to friction. It allows you to open up your angles more than a traditional urethane ball like the black hammer and still continues well through the pins.

The biggest thing I noticed about this ball was how hard it hit. I threw it on the 2019 PBA Del Ballard 34' pattern and was able to play up the boards around 5 to start and chase it as far left as about 12-5 during game 4. Both angles the pocket seemed HUGE and the carry was unbelievable!

This is a must have for any tournament players bag!

Urethane Baby!
First ball out of my bag every time. 5-1/2" pin to pap layout. Super tight flare, even roll, and still covers some boards. My home house hooks a lot, but this puppy allows me to play the straighter angles without sacrificing hitting power.

Controlled Read & Great Pin Action
Rev - Medium, Ball Speed - Medium
Layout: 60 x 3 1/2 x 60

I didn't do anything fancy with this layout. I just wanted something smooth and controlled to add to my bag. This ball is the definition of control, but you are definitely going to get more bang for your buck than you are expecting. This is the best urethane I have ever thrown and I have always like urethane equipment. When I Blue Hammer just doesn't have enough energy at the end of the lane, but I don't want to lose my overall shot, I can pick this ball up and know that when it hits the pocket, the pins are going to get knocked around. This is a must have in anyone's bag that bowls on sport shots or in centers that have light to medium oil house shots.
